Versatile oxidised homopolymer wax emulsion surfactants by Lakeland Laboratories
As part of an industry-wide move towards using water-based ingredients and reformulated wax emulsion products, Lakeland Laboratories’ range has been formulated by our in-house technical development team to be highly effective in applications as diverse as floor polishes, textile finishing and fruit coatings to help them stay looking appetising for longer, whilst reducing solvent use.

An oxidised homopolymer is an active ingredient which can be used in compounds applied as a dispersant, as a protective covering, or as an agent giving a surface anti-slip and mould-tackling properties.

Oxidised homopolymer liquid compounds, manufactured under highly precise and controlled conditions at our laboratory in Greater Manchester, are formulated for low viscosity, which makes them easy to handle and apply, while resulting in a tough, scuff- and abrasion-resistant surface.
Manufactured using reduced solvent content, Lakeland Laboratories’ range of oxidised homopolymer wax emulsion Lakewax products perform a range of valuable protective functions, whether in glossy floor polishes which shield surfaces from heel marks and water damage, solvent-free paints, protective wood and timber coatings, and in mould release agents – which fight the formation of mould on particular surfaces, or allow it to be easily removed.
Also applied in the textiles industry, oxidised homopolymer wax emulsion Lakewaxes soften textiles and are used as part of the dyeing process. Affording greater lubricity, oxidised homopolymer wax emulsions make textiles easier to handle, drape, cut and sew.
Demonstrating their versatility, oxidised homopolymer wax emulsions are used in the formulation of printing inks, giving inks a hard surface for scuff-resistance. Especially useful in the packaging and shipping industries, tough inks ensures that marks and labelling printed on the packaging remain visible for effective organisation, storage and distribution of goods.

Lakewax 44: Our specially-created formulation for use on natural hardwood floors, oxidised homopolymer wax emulsion Lakewax 44 gives highly impressive cleaning results, leaving treated floor surfaces slip-resistant.
